Recognition
We are very proud to have been awarded the Peak District National Park Environmental quality Mark
Aims
We recognise that we have a responsibility to our environment beyond legal and regulatory requirements. We aim to protect the special nature and qualities of the beautiful Peak District National Park where we are lucky enough to live. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral part of our business strategy and operating methods.
Energy use
When we converted the former barns on our site we included an energy efficient ground source heating system and maximal insulation to minimise heating energy usage.
We are replacing light bulbs with energy efficient LED bulbs as older bulbs need replacing.
Waste and recycling
We encourage and would like to thank our guests for separating their recyclable waste.
Suppliers, purchasing and food miles
We purchase a range of local or environmentally friendly products, for example, environmentally friendly cleaning products. We encourage our guests to buy locally wherever possible, not only to reduce food miles but also to experience some of the wonderful produce that is created and grown in this area.
We have taken steps to confirm that our suppliers are also considering the environment in their business practices.
Transport
Living in a rural location makes having a motor vehicle a necessity but we aim to reduce our motorised journeys as far as possible. We encourage guest to bring cycles with safe cycle storage and freely available information for getting out by bicycle.
If you have any other ideas on how we can protect this special environment, then do please let us know
