Byre Cottage reviews

We stayed at Byre Cottage for 3 nights in June. The cottage itself is spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well equipped. Its situation is perfect, surrounded by fields as far as the eye can see, with walks from the doorstep. Peaceful, quiet and restful. We loved it.

Jannette and I really enjoyed our stay in Byre Cottage and the Peak District.  It was the first time that we have visited it together and it exceeded our expectations.  We were, of course, blessed with outstanding weather, which made the cycling both very enjoyable and (relatively!) easy.  The cottage was perfect for our base; being able to shower and wash our cycling clothes each day before sitting out on the patio to have dinner as the sun went down (and our clothes dried) was the ideal way to crown a long day in the saddle and on foot.

We have had a lovely relaxing break at Byre Cottage. the cottage itself is extremely comfortable, very clean and beautifully furnished and equipped. The surrounding countryside is stunning. Saw the bats and a hare loping aross the field. Thank you!

Thanks for a lovely weekend. It was great to escape the city and enjoy the tranquility of Derbyshire. We think we heard a curlew, definitely skylarks and enjoyed watching the bats dart around at night.
