We’ve spent a week in a different county every summer for many years. Hayloft Cottage has been one of the most comfortable and without doubt the most inspiring views. 10 week old cocker spaniel enjoyed having space outside to expend his energy. Our normal walking had to be necessarily restricted (puppy rebelled against backpack!) but some lovely visits, especially to Thornbridge Hall gardens. With thanks!

Lovely cottage. Would like to have stayed longer. the views are great. Shame about the English weather!
Mark, Debbie and Molly the labrador – June 2016
We all had a wonderful time during our weeks stay. Everything we required was available at the cottage. Fortunately, the weather has been good and Molly has been totally worn out from long walks and swimming! Molly says however “watch out for cows as they don’t like dogs too much” But apart from that the surrounding country is lovely for walks etc (Note from Marian – if you get caught in a field with a dog and some curious cows – let the dog go – the dog will be able to outrun the cattle and the cows are more cautious of humans)
The Gardiner family – June 2016
Fabulous dry (!) week. the cottage was really comfortable and had everything we needed. Between cycles and walks, the girls spent happy hours preparing fairy picnics on the lawn.
Brenda, Lisa & Hannah Bertie, Tilly & Charlie the dogs – May 2016

Had a very enjoyable stay in the Hayloft. This was our first visit to Derbyshire & we were not disappointed. Beautiful views and very friendly people. Good food and we recommend the Barrel Inn at Bretton. Peace, perfect peace. Will definitely be returning. Many thanks
